Gradually, as night fell, the wind, powered by the darkness and cold, lifted the curtains. Aurora, on the other hand, stretched out her hands and pulled back against the thin white curtains as if she had special powers, outwardly looking as if she couldn't live her childhood or didn't want to be an adult. Since there was no light other than torches burning like upward-facing autumn leaves on the walls, the environment consisted entirely of orange lights. Since the sun had just set, the western part of the sky was light blue and the eastern part was dark blue, as seen from the window. Therefore, the stars were fainter in the light parts and shined fascinating in the dark parts. Aurora paid good attention to them, namely, she even knew at what time of day the moon looked more beautiful than which window of the house.
Now to go outside and see this beautiful sky in its entirety could have been Aurora's biggest dream yet. In fact, she had many dreams; to be free, to live alone, to touch the sea, to go to Venice, San Marino, Rome or any other country where she would not be humiliated just because she is herself. But if she had to choose one of them, she would say to be able to see the sky every day without thinking. But not like that. She don’t want to see the night from her tiny box. She wanted to see every single star, every celestial body. Thanks to her mother and her cousin who went to school, she had some literacy and knowledge of astronomy. Not to be limited to this knowledge, but to teach and work in the schools of France, India or China... That was one of her dreams. Her dream was to leave the capital city that she never felt any connection, Florence, and where she had been imprisoned since she was born, like a bird in a golden cage, under any pretext. A bird with a silver feather who never got a bait.
She slept quieting her excitement, which grew as she thought about all this, her imagination that never tired of dreaming about what would not happen, and her heart that pounded relentlessly.
